09-09-09

September 9, 2009

Glance at my desk calendar early this morning before ushering myself to the meeting room. Wow it's 09-09-09 great number huh ! Most of the time people will wait for such date for their big event, such as wedding, engagement, party or even something that brings a big meaning in their life. ummm .. i got nothing, ummm ... NOTHING ! (yet ..)

Why border ? A positive minded person will try to direct all the positive energy to their life at every opportunities rather than waiting for something to happen.

Little things .. to think it over, I receive my green pay slip today .. a good sign right ? Hope it can last untill the end of the month. Totally dude .. I also receive a nice Aidilfitri Hamper from PNB and not forgetting the iftar invitation this evening at Royal Bintang. Something to look forward to and enjoying the rest of the day.

I got too much of work lately drowning in piles of file and minutes .. trying hard to have My 2 Minutes post updated was another issue .. but looking at the calendar once again, it does motivate me to write something for the day. Well if i'm persistent and doesn't get bored with blogging hope to see you guys again in 10-10-10 insya'allah.

Till October 10, 2010 do take good care of yourselve and ur eyes so you can read my post on that day !! (Semoga dipanjangkan umur).

Pen-off .. oppss key-off

WHITNEY HOUSTON - I LOOK TO YOU

WHITNEY HOUSTON - I LOOK TO YOU

While strolling around Alamanda and waiting for iftar yesterday evening, I came across a music and movie store. Back in my mind I have read a review on Whitney latest album I Look To You and frankly speaking I love her voice and performance so much. Testing on my luck I ask the counter attendant for her new album. Looking puzzled, I know that he didn't know much about that. Then came another sales assistant and ushered me directly to the record i was looking for.

By this time, a big smile glued to my face. There it is the last 2 copies on the cd shelve ! Without hesitant I took one with the price tag of RM39.90 looking deep into my wallet my unconscious mind told me that I can even get it from the net instend without spending much and save more for Raya. Nahhhh it didn't work at all !!

Eagerly this morning I placed the cd in the player and it is obvious Whitney is BACK ! I enjoy simple and depthfull music thus this new album is worth spending your money for. Composed by renowned composer such as Alicia Keys, Fernando Garibay, R.Kelly, Aliaune Thiam, Leon Russell, Diane Warren and even a duet with Akon. I enjoyed all 11 songs but on top of my list will be Nothin' But Love, Like I Never Left and Salute.

Whitney has a unique clear voice like telling a story while singing. Give a body to the whole lyrics and a dash on her very own personality. Truthfully, I believe that this new record will give Beyonce a bit of challenge for 2009 and I wish Whitney all the best. Maybe loyal fans and those in their 30's to 40's will buy this record but you will never know how the music industry will turn out for this year.

ps: Whitney, My Love is Your Love

Memang kantoi la bole minat whitney ni ... haha

Weekend Bash !

Hello ... Good Monday !

Early this morning we in PM's Department had our monthly assembly. Quite a huge crowd it was, in everyone eyes I could tell that they are hoping for Bonus Annoucement by PM, still it's a secrecy and I do belive that our government need to work on alot to give away bonuses (if any) before Syawal.

Line up along with PM this morning was Dato' Idris Jala, our very own Minister without portfolio. Dress in blue shirt and a compulsory red JPM tie. Personally he gives a good impression on stage and his expression seems like a F1 driver waiting to hit the accelerator .. HARD. Welcome on board Dato'.

So how was my weekend ? Most of the time I spend it on family at home and not forgetting to meet my loyal-full tailor for my new baju melayu .. what colour will I be wearing for this year ? .. Wait and see okey ... On saturday, 2 of my favourite aunties and their family came for break-fast .. wow it was amazing and loud ! Totalling to 8 small childrens aged between 6 to 12 was a handfull, they played, laughed, screamed, running around the pond, spill few glasses, recite the doa' together and the fun part is EATING TOGETHER. I sat in the middle of them all .. not only to be around them more closer but also to babysit otherwise you might get a bunch of flocking drumets !! The food was great and abundance, we had our local dish 'masak lemak cili api', fried chickens (for the kid and Me), puteri mandi, ikan masak asam, and bakso all the way from Jawa (prepared by my aunty's bibik) among others. After prayers, we hit the road and start jumping around with fire crackers .. hahahaha great time !

Last nite, iftar was more poignant as my family and I went to see opah in Kuala Pilah. Opah keep her promise by making me some 'kueh kelopong' also known as 'buah melaka' with gula nau. Question .. Do you know where does 'gula nau' came from ? It came from pokok anau .. my father taught me that pokok anau looks like a coconut tree and palm tree being put together and yes they produce a good sweet 'gula nau' .. a big yes to that ! After the meal and terawih, father gets his bp (blood pressure) pump and portable blood tester on the table. I took advantage of the time and get my glucose level check too. Result shows 4.9 and that is after meal .. wallauweh my blood has low glucose level and it's alarming both my parents and opah as they start asking me to eat this and eat that. It's a major risk for a hypoglycemia like me not getting enough sugar or I'll will end up fainted on low heart beat. Okey better, heavier and sweeter meal next time .. haha such a sweet tooth !

Iftar Galore'

A notion on Ramadhan should be the time when you're supposedly minimized or cut your eating habit yet I could see some people shovering down 3 to 4 plates full easily during iftar. Huh what a sight !

My iftar should be simple, light, not too much (i really meant it) and most importantly SWEET !! I'm like an ant to a pack of sugar and like Pooh to his honey barrel. A cut of cheese cake will do the trick ...

Yesterday I had 'burung puyuh goreng' which I enjoy very much. The event took place at Rumah Tetamu Negeri Sembilan and the place is super nice close to a EPL football player's mansion. The other dishes are also very tasty with gulai daging salai, kerabu mangga, rendang maman, ayam kampung, ikan keli goreng and washed by air sirap.

After terawih, I had the bubur jagung, mee goreng basah and popia sambal. I praise for the lovely coffee since it makes me up all night long .. till 2 in the morning. Meeting with Menteri Besar and State Secretary after that was also a blast !

Such a galore' .. well guess where I'll be going today for iftar ? Let me spell it for you .. Shah Alam and I could imagine right now how full I'll be after the curtains fall. Hope that I'm not too full to keep u guys updated on my next iftar.

It's Ramadhan

Wow ! It has been a very ... yup a very long time since any update come to this post. Many incident + event + momentos + historic + self-actualization occur during the last few months.

Life takes it natural course, for better or for worse and actually I'm living up my dreams once again. It's true what Prof Randy Paunch from Carnegie Mellon University said in his book 'The Last Lecture'; to relive your childhood dreams. Appreciate what you have and doing the most of your time.

Ramadhan taught me alot about friendship and dreams that my friends and I shared together. Once a while I'll keep you guys posted on all those craziest ideas we had in my next post insya'allah.

You know what, I develope this memories-songs embeded kinda thing when i'm with people and most of them my close friends. There are some songs and tunes that keep me reminded of them and the happening during that particular time. Do you have the same thing ? It's like a wedding song but i'll call it my friendship song .. it touches me somewhere deep in my heart.

Let's start the list (maybe few before I put on the complete list), and to my dearest friends out there i'll remember u still.

Abe Lie : Simple Plan (Perfect) + Samson (Kenangan Terindah) + Ibnor Riza (Perindu) , haha

Selamat Beribadat di Bulan Ramadhan.
